Week Four: Lowcountry Top Performers

Week Four is in the books Lowcountry high school football fans. But before we move ahead, we would like to reflect back on some of the top performance from last week. Several athletes from around the area made their presence known on gridiron this past weekend.

Inside, we bring you a list of the top performers from around the area!

Hanahan RB Quincy Mitchell ran for 236 yards and scored 3 touchdowns for the Hawks.

Carvers Bay QB Janaz Sumpter had over 200 yards of total offense for the Bears, and 5 scores (4 rushing/1passing).

North Charleston QB Yancey Washington threw for 344 yards and 4 touchdowns.

James Island Charter Soph QB Hunter Gunnar threw for 360 yards and 5 touchdowns.

Stall CB/WR Juwan Scott accounted for three scores for the Warriors; 1 punt return, 1 receiving, 1 rushing.

Cane Bay CB Andre McCollum recorded 1 interception, a forced safety, 1 blocked punt, 3 tackles, and 1 PBU for the Cobras.

Oceanside Collegiate WR Gerald Shepherd caught 13 passes for 258 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added a 2-point conversion.

First Baptist 2019 RB Michel Dukes tallied up 220 yards of total offense for the Hurricanes, and 3 scores.

Timberland 2021 DL Jamaal McKinney recorded 18 tackles and 4 TFL against Cane Bay Friday night.

Oceanside Collegiate quarterback Sam Hartman threw for 471 yards and 6 touchdowns.

2019 RB prospect Mario Anderson of Stratford High ran for 223 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Baptist Hill senior quarterback Corey Fields threw for 335 yards and 3 touchdown passes.

Summerville RB Darryl Hancock rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown against Goose Creek.

Colleton County QB Craig Grant threw for 126 yards and 2 touchdown passes. He also ran for 57 yards and scored 1 rushing touchdown.

Fort Dorchester QB Dakereon Joyner accounted for 3 total scores for the Patriots, as they defeated Wando Friday night.

Kameron Smiley of St. John’s threw for 242 yards and one score. He also rushed for an additional score.

David Dicker of Coastal Christian tallied up 151 All-Purpose yards and 2 touchdowns. Dicker also added a 2-point conversion.

Senior Kris Copeland of Cane Bay HS rushed for 130 yards, and returned a kick-off for a score.

Victor Goodwin of Burke High School rushed for 200 yards and 3 scores.

LB Germonta Brisbane of James Island Charter High School recorded 11 tackles, 1 blocked field goal, and recovered an onside kick.

Ashley Ridge QB Matthew Duncan was 12 of 20 for 168 yards, and threw 1 TD pass for the Swamp Foxes.

Fort Dorchester WR Raquan Simmons had one touchdown reception, and returned a punt for a score.
