Week Five is in the books Lowcountry high school football fans. But before we move ahead, we would like to reflect back on some of the top performance from last week. Several athletes from around the area made their presence known on gridiron this past weekend.
Inside, we bring you a list of the top performers from around the area!
Hanahan senior RB Quincy Mitchell rushed for 200 and 2 TDs. Mitchel also caught a touchdown pass for the Hawks.
Cane Bay senior ATH Kris Copeland rushed for 300 yards and scored 5 TDs for the cobras.
Thomas Heyward 2021 RB JR Patterson rushed for 307 yards on 20 carries, and scored 3 touchdowns.
Fort Dorchester QB Dakereon Joyner accumulated for over 250 yards of total offense and 5 touchdowns (3 passing/2 rushing) for the Patriots.
Senior WR Raquan Simmons of Fort Dorchester had 4 catches for 83 yards, 2 touchdown receptions, and a punt return for a TD in a little of one quarter of action for the Patriots.
Fort Dorchester junior LB Davon Gilmore recorded 10 tackles, 2 TFL, and 1 fumble recovery.
Ashley Ridge senior WR Jjay McAfee caught 6 passes for 143 yards.
Ashley Ridge QB Matthew Duncan was 18 of 30 passing for 255 yards, and threw 1 TD pass.
Andrews senior FB/LB RJ Knowlin carried the ball 17 times for 185 yards and two scores. He also recorded 1 interception and 1 PBU on the defensive side of the ball.
Andrews senior QB Jaizell Murphy was 8 of 13 passing for 162 yards and threw 2 touchdown passes. He also ran the ball 10 times for the 60 yards.
Andrews junior WR Bryce Johns had 3 receptions for 100 yards and 1 touchdown.
Senior DT Sayvon Morris of Andrews recorded 7 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack, and 4 QB hurries.
2019 RB Dante Smith of Goose Creek had 20 carries for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns.
First Baptist OLB Jackson Watson recorded 17 tackles, and 4 TFL.
Oceanside Collegiate QB Sam Hartman was 24 of 37 passing for 310 yards, and threw 2 TD strikes.
Senior WR Gerald Shephard of Oceanside Collegiate caught 12 passes for 152 yards and one score.
Baptist Hill QB Corey Fields threw for 357 yards and 2 scores.
Wando’s defense was quite impressive on this past Friday, as they held Stratford scoreless in a convincing 39-0 victory over the Knights.
