EPT Football Academy DL Coach, Rashad Jackson, took the drive from the Upstate to Charleston this past weekend, to work out the defensive linemen at Super Saturday. We spoke one-on-one with Coach Jackson at the conclusion of the session, to get a little feedback on his experience in the Lowcountry.

St. Augustine signee, Matthew Morrison, was on hand for Super Saturday this past weekend.

Defensive Linemen Re-cap

“The kids that came out were hungry. You could tell they wanted to come out and get better. Overall, it was a great opportunity for me to bring EPT down to Charleston, and a great opportunity to embrace the community. I am hoping to get down here again this summer and work with a few more kids in the area. There’s a lot of talent down here.” – EPT Football Academy DL Coach

Jackson elaborated on some of the talent on hand…

Berkeley 2018 DT Marion McGill

Marion McGill was at our showcase recently, and I got to see him do some things during one-on-ones. He was excited to hear/see some new stuff today. He should do some good things for his team this fall. I hope to see him do his thing, and make it to the next level.

Woodland 2020 DT Jaysharn Boyd

He’s wanting to get better. He’s a sponge. He’s listening and staying focused. I worked out with him a little over a week ago, and he’s back out here today working hard trying to better himself for his team (Woodland). He’s inquired about me doing some training with some of his teammates, so he’s not just thinking of himself, but of his team as well. That shows the character in him as a teammate. Those are the type of aspects that you want to see in a player. He’s only a rising tenth-grader, so he’s only going to get better. He’s is going to do some special things.

2017 St Augustine DT Signee Matthew Morrison (Fort Dorchester HS)

I met Matthew last year at our showcase at Newberry College. Had a chance to talk with him today, he definitely wants to get better. He may be a little undersized, but he has a motor. He wants to start this season, so he’s out here trying to tighten up on a few things, and trying to get better. I wish him nothing but the best at St. Augustine.
