Hello Lowcountry high school football fans. The month of July brought on much excitement for a number of prospects from around the Lowcountry region of the state. We just wanted to take a brief moment to reflect back on a number of intriguing events/headliners from around the area.

Not only has it been a hot summer in terms of the temperature outside, but in reference to Tyreke Young’s stock, as the Hilton Head Island star currently has nine offers on the table!

Things have been heating up on the recruiting front for Hilton Head Island 2018 DE prospect, Tyreke Young. The 6-3, 190-pounder has a total of nine offers to his name, with South Florida being the latest program to enter the recruiting race for his services. Toledo, Ohio, Eastern Kentucky, East Carolina, Appalachian State, Cincinnati, Marshall, and Charlotte were the first eight programs to offer the Hilton Head Island star. At the moment, Cincinnati, USF, and East Carolina are on his short list. We expect for this young man’s stock to continue rising as we enter into the 2017 football season.

Fort Dorchester High School 2018 football prospect, D’angelo Knight, announced his commitment to Georgia State University on last Thursday. The 6-2, 215-pound safety out of Fort Dorchester is a huge pick-up for the Panther’s 2018 recruiting class, as he chose Georgia State over Appalachian State, and a host of interest from others. Be sure to keep an eye this young man this fall, as he is expected to have a great season for the Patriots.

A pair Berkeley High School football prospects landed their first scholarship offers on last Friday. 2018 S prospect, Gary Stevens (5-9, 175lbs.), along with 2018 defensive tackle prospect, Marion McGill (6-4, 285lbs.), both picked up scholarship offers from Cincinnati Christian Academy. Congratulations to both of these young men, as they are expected to do great things on the field this fall.

Congrats to rising sophomore CB prospect, Christian Miller, of Hilton Head Island High School who was recently named to the 2020 FBU All-American Team.

Congrats to Summerville High School 2019 QB prospect, Johnathan Bennett, who won the QB Challenge at the Powerade 7on7 Tournament earlier this month. Bennett also received All-Tournament First-Team honors.
