Hello Lowcountry high school football fans. Just wanted to take a quick moment to bring you up to speed on some of the latest news/notes from around the area.
First off, we’d like to start off by congratulating coach, Johnny Waters, and the First Baptist Hurricanes, who captured their second consecutive Class AA SCISA State Title with a 35-20 victory over Trinity-Byrnes this past Saturday. Down by 20 points at the half, the Hurricanes stormed back with 35 unanswered points in the second half to seal the victory.
During Saturday’s contest, First Baptist running prospect, Michel Dukes, led the charge with four trips into the endzone. To date the talented junior has a total of six scholarship offers to his name: Wake Forest, Georgia State, South Carolina, Old Dominion, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech.
Fort Dorchester 2018 offensive lineman prospect, Avery Snipes, has de-committed from SC State University. The 6-3, 280-pound OL made us aware of the news on this past Saturday. Snipes, who committed to the MEAC program a little over a month ago felt like he’d made his decision a little too soon, and wants to explore his options a little, to make sure that he’s making the right decision for his future. Limestone, Old Dominion, Western Carolina, North Greenville, Charleston Southern, and Charlotte are just a few programs that have been keeping a close eye on the Lowcountry star. We will keep you posted on his recruitment, as we are informed!
