Summerville High School 2018 wide receiver prospect, Shaq Davis, has been receiving much love on the hardwood, as the 6-5, 200-pound target currently has four scholarship offers to his name. Davis took to social media to announce that he has received offers from Presbyterian, Gardner Webb, Charleston Southern, and Duquesne to play basketball. At the moment, the hardware is looking more and more promising for the big target out of Summerville, as no football offers have been reported to date.
Former Ashley Ridge DE/LB, Owen Trephan, will be packing his bags and heading up to the state of New Jersey to enroll into Blair Academy. As some of you may know, Trephan, was also a stud on the wrestling mat for the Swamp Foxes this past year, bringing home a state title on this past season. He is now set to take his skills to Blair. Located in New Jersey, Blair is widely known as one of the country’s top high school wrestling programs. Swamp Foxes Head Football Coach, Kenny Walker, informed us that Trephan will also play football for Blair Academy.
While on the subject of Ashley Ridge, Coach Walker is excited about the secondary the Swamp Foxes will field this year. “We have some players in our secondary,” Walker said. “Put it this way, when I spoke with the coach from Newberry College, he pretty much told me that our whole secondary is on their recruiting board.”
Note: Keep an eye on Rodney Oldham (2018), NiJay Hill (2018), and speedster Darius Smith (2019) out of AR’s secondary this fall.
Former Ashley Ridge High School defensive tackle prospect, Ben Mitchum, will be suiting up for the Summerville Green Wave this fall. Mitchum will be entering the 2017 season a junior for the Green Wave. A pair Berkeley High School football prospects landed their first scholarship offers on this past Friday. 2018 S prospect, Gary Stevens, along with 2018 defensive tackle prospect, Marion McGill, both picked up scholarship offers from Cincinnati Christian Academy. Congratulations to both of these young men, as they are expected to do great things on the field this fall.
Fort Dorchester High School football prospect, D’angelo Knight, announced his commitment to Georgia State University this past Thursday morning. The 6-2, 215-pound safety out of Fort Dorchester is a huge pick-up for the Panther’s 2018 recruiting class, as he chose Georgia State over Appalachian State, and a host of interest from others. Be sure to keep an eye this young man this fall, as he is expected to have a great season for the Patriots.
